NCDTA Examinations

All students are given the opportunity to progress through the Northern Counties Dance Teachers’ Association syllabus for Ballet, Tap, Modern-Jazz, Freestyle & Cheerleading.  Medal tests can be taken in all subjects and grades are taken in Ballet, Tap & Modern-Jazz.  Graded examinations consist of a set of exercises to asses a students technical ability & knowledge of a particular subject and as students progress to the higher levels they can take over an hour to examine.  Medal test examinations are shorter and usually consist of a routine choreographed by the teacher to display technical ability but also a sense of performance.  Below is a list of the examinations available in each subject, graded examinations are highlighted in bold.
